Sustainability

We passionately believe that CanDo Business Ventures and all of its ventures are capable of being truly sustainable enterprises. We subscribe to Adam Werbach’s definition of sustainability, which is “the ability to thrive in perpetuity”. In aspiring to build businesses which achieve real sustainability we recognize our responsibility to all of the stakeholders we impact and the opportunity we have to create value for each of them.

To achieve this we must construct our business on all four pillars of sustainability.

Four Pillars of Sustainability:
Economic

Financial Viability. Profit is like oxygen to a company. Without profit, a company can’t exist. All of our strategic decisions are made to ensure that we maintain profitability and thus can continue to operate and grow in perpetuity.

Societal

Building companies that uplift communities. We aim to create companies that make the areas in which they operate a better place to live. We do this through cooperative ownership, providing a top notch product or service, partnership with other local organizations and using our location as a forum for the community to learn about the challenges we are trying to solve.

Cultural

Operating in a way that respects cultural diversity and promotes inclusiveness.  We want to help preserve the unique identity of each community we work in while simultaneously showing people that everyone can and should be allowed to contribute.

Environmental

Designing businesses which recognize that we all share finite resources and must use them in the most responsible ways possible. In this, we design our businesses to use energy, materials and water efficiently, reject the use of toxic chemicals, and use renewable energy and resources wherever possible.
